Does emulator load faster? And if yes, does this loading effect the loading speed of the score screens as well, which would effect IGT? The results of this test would show which timing methods emulator would be on equal footing for, if any at all.Ģ. To more easily detect pre-recording with save states or submitting TASes, I personally think it'd be wise to include the window bar of Dolphin in the game capture. The "Input frame/total" counter shows whether a recording is playing or not. Also makes it even easier to spot performance issues. Are there performance differences between different builds of Dolphin? This is important to know in case we'd need to regulate specific builds that we know work well.Ĥ. Any known differences in physics and if there are any, whether they impact the run at all. Obviously all mods/cheat codes will not be allowed, but it's important for the main game to run as correctly as possible. I do not have the spare time (or tbh, motivation as I'd still like most people to run on actual hardware) to look into stuff like this, so I'd appreciate your help in this. So I was doing some science on dolphin looking for visual cues attempting to make more doable a specific boost in Frog Forest for Team Dark and for it I decided to use the Dolphin Memory Engine, that for those unfamiliar, is a complementary application similar to Cheat Engine that using a specific file for the Sonic Heroes ISO allows you to display some very useful info such as speed, position, etc in the current gameplay.Īllowing usage of emulator for the leaderboards is a very good initiative in my opinion considering how hard is to get the original hardware nowadays (and how harder it will become eventually) and it's being taken carefully giving priority to guarantee fair and legit competition. #Dolphin emulator not running at 100 iso# #Dolphin emulator not running at 100 download#.#Dolphin emulator not running at 100 iso#.#Dolphin emulator not running at 100 mods#.#Dolphin emulator not running at 100 how to#.Every other program is able to use the cpu fully. I don't think it's getting throttled in any way. I tested my CPU by opening up a 4k video file and it's getting upto a 100 percent usage no problem. Also I just noticed that enabling skip EFB access gives the message 'EFBaccessenable overridden by game ini' when I boot the game. Dolphin will ignore everything that is saved in My Documents and will do as if you opened it for the very first time.Ĭreating a blank portable.txt didn't help either. Sure enough, make a backup of all your saves copying them somewhere else.Īlternatively, create a blank portable.txt file right where Dolphin is and try again. I´d say you should delete all of your settings (Documents/Dolphin Emulator). Since that is not affecting performance in any way, your GPU is out of the question. Similar performance across open gl and directx.

Testing other PC games(all run smoothly).Ĭhanging backends. I don't know if this is related.Ĭhanging power settings to high performance mode. It always runs at native resolution no matter what I set, from what I can see. Also, I've just now discovered that the internal resolution and anti aliasing settings has no effect on the games. Shouldn't it be higher? GPU usage is about 40 percent. So when I opened Task Manager it seems Dolphin isn't using more than 10-15 percent of my CPU no matter what.

Specs - Core i7-2600 at 3.4 Ghz, AMD Radeon r9 280x 3gb, 8gb Ram, Windows 10 圆4 Both of these games used to run at silky smooth 60 fps on my pc: I tested No More Heroes and Mario Galaxy and both games vary between 15-35 fps depending on onscreen activity. So I took a break from the emulator and when I got back today its running insanely slow for seemingly no reason. Help! I used to run Dolphin 5 at a perfect 60 fps for all my games up until a month ago.
